Born and raised in Reno, NV, Caitlin McCarty is a writer, dance teacher, and choreographer who has spent much of her young life creating throughout the Reno community. Caitlin began her dance training in classical ballet at The Conservatory of Movement and graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a B.A. in English Writing and a minor in Dance.

While at the University, Caitlin was honored to dance in works by Cari Cunningham and Rosie Trump and Guest Artist work by Kathleen Hermesdorf and Andrea Miller. Caitlin received the College of Liberal Arts, Dean’s Award for Performance and Artistry upon the conferral of her undergraduate degree. 

After graduation, Caitlin moved to New York City where she worked as an Associate for Gallim Dance overseeing the company’s education program, touring, development and much more. Caitlin is a freelance writer and contributor to Dance Magazine’s  online publication. Caitlin is passionate about the intersection of literacy and dance and employs poetry and prose in her choreographic work and teaching strategies. 

Caitlin graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in December 2021 with a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship.
